Sunshine Coast Surf Spots

 

The Sunshine Coast is spoilt with choice when it comes to searching for the perfect wave.  With miles of beautiful secluded beaches as well as beaches that are in the hot spots for tourists there is a beach and a wave for all tastes and skill levels.  Mix this with the fact that the Sunshine Coast climate is mild all year round with ample sunshine and you have the perfect mix for an unforgettable holiday.

Noosa River Mouth – Clean waves are produced with a south east swell with offshore winds.  The river mouth can be busy with boat traffic during holiday seasons.

First Point and Main Beach near the Groin- Noosa – The ideal spot for beginners in the right conditions and is most suitable to long boarders.  With perfect conditions First Point can produce some fantastic waves.

Granite - Noosa – Produces solid short waves that are more suitable to the experienced surfer with fast take offs and quick rides.

 Boiling Pot – Noosa - The Boiling Pot allows the the surfer to have long rides through to Johnson's. During cyclone seasons the swell here is strong and consistent..

Sunshine Beach Corner- Sheltered by Noosa Headland Sunshine corner will produce some brilliant waves with the right conditions that will test even the most experianced surfer and provide exciting veiwing for those on shore.

Old Woman Island – One of the best waves on the Sunshine Coast, the Island allows the surfer to choose from clean breaks from both sides of the Old Woman Island.

Cheese Factory - Mooloolaba - The Cheese Factory can produce large fast thick waves when the weather conditions swell and tides are right.

Shelly’s Caloundra – Near  Moffat  Beach, Shelly’s requires the winds, tides and swell to be working together to produce quality surfing conditions. . Due to its secluded nature the crowds are not as bad when conditions are right compared to some of the other main surf locations.
